Dj tee gathered his production team at the venue to direct the music video of an upcoming artist called malcom. Dj Tee needed more girls to feature on the video so three persons : Bolaji(female), Tolani, Dolapo were contracted to get girls from UNILAG and they did.
Before the recording started Dj tee gave orders that everyone on set who is not suppose to be on the video should stay clear of the recording area.
The fight that lead to the stabbing started when Dolapo's girlfriend wanted to leave the location and she probably walked into the recording area. While cautioning her for violating earlier orders of staying clear from recording area , DJ TEE insulted her and called name like " you Bitch" . Dolapo who could not stand by to watch his girlfriend being insulted tried to caution and calm DJ tee down but got a slap from DJ tee.

My ex-commissioner wife returned home without pant –Husband
David Erhabor, husband of a former commissioner in Edo State, Florence
Igbinigie-Erhabor, on Wednesday, told a Benin High Court, that his wife
of 15 years once came home without putting on pant.
He said, “There was a day she came back home drunk and without a pant on her. She was in the habit of keeping late nights.”
David while testifying in a divorce suit, No HAB/16D/2011, instituted by his wife, a former Commissioner for Women Affairs, under Chief Lucky Igbinedion, told the court he did not envisage a broken home in his life.
The respondent said trouble started after his wife was appointed commissioner, after which he said she began keeping late nights.
David, an ex-Senior Adviser to former Governor Oswerhiemen Osunbor, told the court that there was a time the wife abandoned their two children, absconded from home for three days, “only to be caught red-handed inside a vehicle, romancing and kissing a man who had earlier gassed him.”
David recalled that it took the intervention of a former chairman of Delta State Oil Producing Community Development Commission, Chief Wellington Okrika, to resolve some of their matrimonial crises.
He also said his wife had once demanded N1m from him before she could allow him to have sex with her, adding that on another occasion, he ran from home when he sensed that his wife was planning to send hired assassins after him.
On the custody of their children, David said they could always stay with whoever they chose when on holidays.
Florence among other prayers is asking the court to grant her divorce on the grounds of threat to life, violent assault and infidelity on the part of her husband.
The former commissioner, who has since 2009 separated from her husband, is demanding that she should be paid N150, 000 as monthly upkeep for each of their children. She also wants Erhabor to be compelled to pay the children’s school fees.
While being crossed-examined by David’s lawyer, Mr. Akakhomen Austine, Florence said her husband had at a time squeezed the children inside a vehicle and threatened to set them ablaze. She said it took the intervention of members of both families to broker peace.
The former commissioner said she had been solely responsible for the children’s upkeep, including payment of their school fees over the past years.
She added that the children had been living in her family house where she relocated to when she suspected that her husband was after her life.
She also accused David of having extra-marital affair with their housemaid.
Justice Anthony Erhabor adjourned the case till August 4 for further hearing.

27years Old Man Kidnaps His Blood Brother, And Collects N4m Ransom
How far will you go in a bid to get money from your elder brother to
start a business? Well a young man seems to have provided the answer to
the question by his stupid action.
Okafor Chukwujekwu, a 27-year-old man, has been arrested by the police in Lagos for conspiring, arranging and kidnapping his blood brother, Cosmos Chukwujekwu for a ransom.
We gathered that the victim was kidnapped close to his house at Festac Town, Lagos, and taken to an unknown place where he was made to pay N4 million ransom before he was released.
The victim surrendered his Honda car, handsets and paid cash of N1.8 million before they released him. The total value of what he paid them in exchange for his freedom was N4 million.
Mr Cosmos reported the matter at Festac Police Division and during investigation it was discovered that it was his younger brother who executed the kidnap for selfish reasons. Olufamous.com learnt that Okafor had earlier asked his elder brother (Cosmos) for some money to set up a business. He agreed but told him to be patient and give him some time to raise some money.
Trying to be faster than his shadow, Okafor arranged with one Malik Sherif and they ambushed Cosmos on his way home and threatened to kill him if he did not pay the money.
Both of them were later arrested by the police. Okafor and Malik have thus been arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate court presided over by E.A. Ogundare. After listening to the case against them the presiding magistrate send them to Kirikiri prison and adjourned the matter for further hearing.

Gov. Sanusi Lamido Dismisses 800 Workers From Afribank (Wickedness?)
800 workers from the former Afribank Plc (now Mainstreet Bank) got their pink slips on Friday, June 22, 2012.
The firing came despite being told by the federal government and organised labour to keep staff on the payroll until disputes between management and staff were resolved. A few days earlier, discussions between the Ministry of Labour and Productivity, organised labour and the bank’s management over the “outstanding gratuity of staff of the defunct Afribank” according to the our source took place in Abuja.
On Monday the union requested that the fired staff be returned immediately to work, calling the dismissals illegal and carried out outside of the normal procedure. They threatened to bring the bank to a halt if the request was not granted.
Those fired were shut out of the bank’s computer network, and in some cases, out of their offices, and told to wait for the full details of their dismissal in an e-mail.
According to the our source, 800 members of staff were dismissed, “over 650 were members of the Association of Senior Staff of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions, ASSBIFI, affiliated to the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC, while the rest were members of the National Union of Banks, Insurance and Financial Employees, NUBIFIE, affiliated to Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC.”
At a briefing, yesterday, Secretary-General of TUC, Chief John Kolawole, said: “The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) views this act of Management of Mainstreet Bank Ltd as the height of provocation and lawlessness which is condemnable. Consequently, TUC unequivocally states and demands the reversal of these terminations and other anti-labour acts immediately, failing which TUC will mobilise all its affiliates, allies and resources to shut down completely the operations of the bank nationwide.”
He added “We are therefore appealing to all well-meaning Nigerians, Hon. Minister of Labour and Productivity, Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Director-General, Nigeria Deposit Insurance Cooperation (NDIC), The Managing Director, Asset Management Company of Nigeria(AMCON), Acting Inspector General of Police to prevail on the Management of the Bank before the bubble bursts.”

LMAO! Mopol Slaps Davido For Talking Too Much
According to our source, Davido was invited for the recently concluded Nokia Rap Battle show
alongside other prominent acts by one Nosa, a fast rising music
producer cum manager. The show ended and according to the source, Davido
who was said to be drunk to stupor

ones that brought him, and other top artistes and crew from the hotel.
He insisted though and Nosa being his host had to drive behind them, bubble later burst when the car conveying Davido was stopped by some military men for the routine check especially at that time of the night.
Our source revealed that the obviously tipsy Davido jumped out of the car and started boasting "don't you know me, what the fcuk is wrong with you guys..." He started shouting about who he is and what guts the Mopol men had to stop his friend`s car.
This act, infuriated one of the Mopol and while the musician was still ranting and boasting, he was landed a dirty slap and was threatened with gun to shut up if he does not want to be bathed in his blood.
The musician we were further told was immediately rushed back into the car by Nosa and his friend who had at that point got down from their bus and pleaded with the uniformed men that he’s actually a popular musician especially in Lagos and was coming from a show.

Nigerian breaks academic record at John Hopkins University
Fellow Nigerians, meet Emmanuel Ohuabunwa who made us proud in the United States
A 22-year-old Nigerian, Emmanuel Ohuabunwa, has made history at John Hopkins University, United States of America. Ohuabunwa from Arochukwu, Abia State, has done the nation proud by becoming the first black man to make a Grade Point Average of 3.98 out of 4.0 to bag a degree in Neurosciences in the university. He was also adjudged as having the highest honours during the graduation that was held on May 24 this year.
For his efforts, he has won a scholarship to Yale University to pursue a degree in medicine. Besides, he has been inducted into Phi Beta Kappa Society, a prestigious honour group that features membership of 17 US Presidents, 37 US Supreme Court Justices, and 136 Nobel Prize winners.
Ohuabunwa, who was born in Okota, Lagos and attended Lilly Fields Primary School, Lagos, said he left Nigeria after his junior secondary school education at Air Force Comprehensive School, Ibadan, Oyo State.
He moved to the United States at the age of 13, at that time he was admitted into Fondren Middle School, which was in the middle of the ghetto, so he was subjected to Racism, He said, " “Some asked me if I lived in mud huts and ate faeces for breakfast. I remember one day, when I was walking to the school bus, a boy came from behind and punched me in the face, called me an African and walked away. It took everything in me not to retaliate. I knew that God had put me in the U.S for a purpose and it did not involve fighting or selling drugs or doing the wrong things".
But in spite of this humiliation and racial prejudice against him, the first in a family of three was not discouraged. He faced his studies and was always coming top in his class. After he completed his middle school education, he passed the entrance examination to DeBakey High School for Health Professions. It was at this school that his interest in neurosciences and medicine started.
Worried that his parents might not be able to sponsor him to the university, Ohuabunwa purposed to work very hard. He did and when the result of the PSAT came, he performed so well that he won the National Achievement Scholar.
By virtue of this award, he received certificates of recognition from various organisations including senators from the Congress of both Texas and the US. He also received scholarship from the University of Houston; Rice University, Texas A&M Honors College and many more.
He had also won the Principal’s Award during the annual awards ceremony at DeBakey High School.
“During our graduation ceremony at DeBakey, I also won the Award for the Most Outstanding Senior Young Man and the student volunteer award for my volunteer activities in the State of Texas,” he said.
But his breakthrough came when he won the Bill and Belinda Gates Foundation full scholarship to any university of his choice. He worked hard and gained admission to Johns Hopkins University to study Neurosciences.

The breast restaurant : Sexy waitresses offering dinner & full breast view
The breast restaurant guide: The breast restaurant guide: How waitresses
offering dinner and a tacky 'view' are keeping diners alive
The waitresses at Twin Peaks wear skimpy plaid tops that accentuate their chests.
In case you didn't catch the joke, the chain's logo is an image of two pointy, snow-capped mountains. And the sports bar doesn't stop there: It promises 'scenic views.'
Twin Peaks owner Randy DeWitt downplays all of that and insists that the appeal of the restaurant goes beyond the obvious. Hearty meals and a focus on making customers feel special, he says, are what really keeps them coming back.
'We believe in feeding the ego before feeding the stomach,' he says. Or as the website of the mountain lodge-themed restaurant states: 'Twin Peaks is about you, `cause you're the man!'
Twin Peaks is part of a booming niche in the beleaguered restaurant industry known as 'breastaurants,' or sports bars that feature scantily clad waitresses.

Jim Iyke Acquitted From Charges Of 419 And Fruad
The
$100,000 scam case involving Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has been thrown
out by the court clearing Jim Iyke of any liabilities. The case which
was instituted by one Habiba Abubakar was quashed for lack of evidence.
Commenting about the dismissal, Jim said: “Yes it is over. It’s just a business venture and someone in the partnership wanted more because they’re connected and I won’t back down and they said I fraud them. The judge struck it out and ended the case this week for lack of evidence. We have long resolved out of court. The case officially closed on 15th June 2012.” Hopefully, issues like this will be a thing of the past for Nollywood stars as they forge ahead with a career that has global ramifications with clear lenses all over what they do. |

She was said to have slept off immediately she drank it. This allegedly enabled Kehinde to rape her.
The defendant reportedly confessed to the police that he had tried to have sex with her to no avail prior to that day.
He said he administered the drug on her drink so that she would get intoxicated and allow him have sex with her.
We gathered that the victim became conscious the next day when she woke up naked on a bed with sperm dripping from her private part.
She felt humiliated and reported the matter to the police at Sabo, Yaba Division
The police later arrested and charged Kehinde to court under Sections 237 and 266 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011.
He pleaded not guilty and the presiding Magistrate, Mrs S. K. Matepo, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The defendant was remanded in prison custody at Ikoyi as he could not meet the bail condition.
Rev. Chris Okotie Ends Second Marriage To Stephanie Henshaw After Four Years
It was a
bleak Sunday for the congregation of former pop star turned cleric,
Pastor Kris Okotie when he announced the break-up in his marriage of
four years to his second wife, Stephanie. The bad news which enveloped
the Household of God Church, Oregun, Lagos stunned members as they stood
still and speechless for seconds after he dropped the bombshell shortly
to the close of Sunday service few hours ago. The Sunday service which
coincided with the June’s brethren’s’ birthday celebration had recorded
soul lifting songs and dances interspersed with fervent prayers,
ministration and cutting of the cake. Okotie, in a sparkling white
short-sleeve suit suddenly drew the attention of the church. “Stephanie
and I are no longer married. We have separated. You can see she’s not in
church today. It’s due to irreconcilable differences and you should
please respect our wishes at this time because there is no going back.
Question, Who attends Rev. Chris Okotie's church here?
Well I dont want to say anything before people start abusing me, but why wo nt marriage crash when you wont respect yourself as a pastor you still want to marry beautiful woman with figure 8 coca cola bottle shape but preach that we should marry soul mates, this is his second marriage, #on2dnext

WTF: A 26 Years Old Nigerian Sentenced To Death By Hanging For Stealing N1,705
This is unbelievable but it has happened LIVE in our country, Nigeria. A Jos High Court on Thursday, 21 June 2012, sentenced a 26-year-old man, Obinah John, to death by hanging for stealing the sum of One Thousand, Seven Hundred and Five Naira ( N1,705) cash from one Dorothy Olaniyi.
We gathered that Obinah, now on death row, was also accused of of stealing two rolls of peak milk sachets, valued at N400 from the same Dorothy.
The prosecution counsel, Mr G.D. Fwonyon, who is the deputy director, Public Prosecution in Plateau State had told the court that Obinah, in company with an accomplice identified as John, now at large, robbed the Dorothy on November 18, 2005 in her shop at Gada Biu, Jos, at gunpoint.
The Public Prosecutor told the judge point-blank that since Obinah used a gun to rob Olaniyi, he had committed a criminal offence punishable with death by hanging.
We gathered that Obinah's counsel, Mr. Tobechukwu Kekemeke tried all he could to convince the judge otherwise, but his pleas fell on deaf ears. He was said to have accused the police of “not telling the truth about the gun” said to have been used by Obinah.
Mr. Kekemeke pointed out that the police presented three statements, with only the last indicating a confession by the accused that he used a gun against the victim. He further argued that the prosecution had failed to prove to the court that the accused actually used a gun to commit the act.
But in a 60-page judgment, Justice Yargata Nimpa said the evidence before her showed that the accused, Obinah, committed the offence and thus sentenced him to death by hanging.

Not Too Old For School – 80 Year-Old Pa Alimi Olarenwaju Amodu Graduates with Se
An 80 year-old retired civil servant, Pa Alimi Olarenwaju Amodu
yesterday received his Second Class Honours degree in Sociology from the
Lagos State University.
At the University’s 17th convocation cerenmony, Pa Amodu was amongst the over 27,087 students who graduated from the institution. The father of seven is undoubtedly Nigeria’s oldest University student.
When a 74 year old man gained admission to study Law in April 2012 at Obafemi Awolowo University, many thought he was the oldest Nigerian student. However, Pa Amodu’s determination and courage to search for knowledge in spite of his age is certainly something quite enviable.
The octogenarian does not just have his sights set on a Bachelors degree but wants to have a PhD before he returns to his creator. He has already sat for and passed a Master’s degree examination to study Industrial Relations in LASU. After his Ph.D, he plans to give back to the society by establishing a primary school in his home town, Oniyangi.
He never failed any course during his undergraduate days and was popularly known as “Youngest Student” and “Baba Bookwarm” amongst other students.
“It was by God’s grace that I graduated from LASU without having to re-sit for any carry-over course. Although during my undergraduate days, I faced a lot of challenging moments like having to wake up very early to catch a bus to school. What really helped me to succeed throughout was that I had from the foundation learned from my mother to wake up as early as 3.00 a.m. I usually read from 3.00 a.m. to 6.00 a.m to constantly update my scope of knowledge, and I thank God who saw me through to this point.”
On how he felt sitting together to receive lectures with students who are young enough to be his grand children, he said: “That’s very good. It was a stiff competition between me and them. When you are competing with young students, there’s no age consideration. I have to always struggle to sit at the front in class. Another point is that the lecturers address everyone as equal in the university.”
Sharing his most memorable moment on campus, he recalled the incident that occurred in class sometime ago, when he dozed off during a lecture. “That day, my lecturer caught me dozing in class. He said to me: ‘Baba you are sleeping’ and I said, ‘No sir, I wasn’t sleeping.”
So he said: ‘If you weren’t sleeping, what did I say last?” I couldn’t answer. He asked me what I ate before coming to school, and I told him I ate rice. Then he advised me not to take heavy meals before coming to school , but just a cup of tea and some slices of bread. “The funniest thing is that I was disciplined by standing up till the end of the lecture.”
Pa Amodu surely has had an interesting journey through the University.
Congratulations Sir! I pray you achieve all that you have set out for in all you endeavours. With your resilience, you have shown that there is no age limit to dreaming, setting goals and achieving success.

AHEAD OF 2012/2013 UNILAG/MAULAG POST-UTME: SENATE RE-OPENS INSTITUTION ON MONDAY
The senate council of the University of Lagos(UNILAG), now Moshood Abiola University(MAULAG) has ordered the return of the students to their classrooms as well as their hostels as they prepare to commence academic activities, after a what happens to be a turbulent semester.
The institution has faced so many crisis, both internally and externally, this semester, which includes;
• The death of their Vice- Chancellor(Professor Sofoluwe)
• The death of a former HOD in the computer science department. (Two weeks after)
• The protest called upon, by the renaming of the institution (two weeks after).
• The shut down of UNILAG and compulsory vacation of hostel and university buildings (few days later).
It would be remembered that the Institution(UNILAG) was forced to a closedown, two weeks ago, when the students protested the democracy day broadcast of the presidents, which saw them acquire a new identity.
The president, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, In his speech, renamed the Institution after the supposed June 12 election winner, Dr MKO Abiola.
This was not taken in lightly as expected of the students, who vowed to fight till the end, to retain their identity.
The case even worsened when the students moved to Obstruct traffic flow in the 3rd mainland bridge, one of the busiest Routes in the state which joins the lagos mainland to the Lagos Island, thereby preventing the movement of people, their goods and their business for that day.
It was also reported that the Alumni council of the institution were not happy with the change as they also took the Federal government to Court, over the issue.
This led to the close down of the institutions, to allow the senate make decisions, which would ensure the safety of Institution, as well as its students.
At this moment, we are happy to announce that, the decision has been made, and the senate has ordered the University to be re-opened, and academic activities, to be commenced immediately.
The UNILAG Senate hereby re-opens the university on Monday 18th June; 2012.
Student are to return to their hostels on Sunday 17th June; 2012 at 4pm.
Thanks
DSA.
All Unilag/Maulag students are by this notice, required to return to their various hostels, as academic activities would commence immediately

Horror as six-month-old boy die after evil rats Feasted on his Face
ON Saturday morning, Nthabiseng lay her six-month-old
boy down on the bed next to her. She breastfed him, watched as he went
to sleep, and fell asleep herself.
A few hours later, she woke up to find that giant rats had been eating her boy’s face!
“My child’s mouth was covered in blood and his eyes had terrible cuts. I called an ambulance and my son was taken to Leratong Hospital,” Nthabiseng Mgangame (27) said.
But late that night she got a call that her son, Philandar, had died. The baby was buried yesterday at Lenasia cemetery. Nthabiseng and other residents said evil rats were taking over Spooktown in Bekkersdal, west of Joburg.
“They come from the graveyard and invade our shacks at night. I felt like someone was hitting me on the face. I was asleep but I tried to fight it off. Eventually I woke up and that’s when I saw cuts on my face and blood coming out of my mouth. The rats nibbled on my eyes and I could not see clearly when I woke up,” said a neighbor, Ntswaki Malomane (23) who had also been attacked by the rats.
Ntswaki was taken to hospital and treated for rat bites.

Relatives of the passengers in the Dana Air plane that
crashed in Lagos have kicked against a proposed mass burial for
unidentified victims deposited at Mainland Hospital, Ebute-Metta.
Out of the 153 passengers who died, only 50 have been identified as at yester-day, seven days after the plane crashed in the outskirts of Lagos. Of the 50 identified bodies, 29 are males, 17 females and four babies.
The affected relatives made their views known yesterday at a closed door meeting with Governor Babatunde Fashola at the Lagos House, Ikeja.
A relative of one of the unidentifiable victims, Johnson Akanji, informed Daily Trust after the meeting that the Lagos State governor had touted the idea of mass burial to be carried out by the state government, but some of the affected families, particularly foreign nationals, rejected the plan.
According to him, Indians and Europeans whose relations died in the crash did not subscribe to the idea. “We were told 67 bodies have been identified so far. They said others could not be identified until DNA is carried out on them. The agreement reached was that we would wait till the test is carried out on the bodies instead of mass burial,” he said.
Meanwhile, Governor Babatunde Fashola has disclosed that a special committee (Relationship Team) has been set up by the government to ensure effective communication between the state government and families of victims of the plane crash.
Briefing reporters after the closed door meeting, the governor said that some decisions had been taken during the meeting, adding that both sides have agreed to commence the process of identifying bodies which have not been identified so as to let their families claim them for burial.
Meanwhile 50 out of the 153 persons killed in the crash have so far been identified by the relations while two yet to be identified adult bodies are still lying in the morgue at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
The bodies, Daily Trust learnt will be released to their relations this week while DNA test have commenced on the bodies of unidentifiable bodies to ensure that bodies are not released to the wrong families.
Some of the 50 victims identified as obtained from the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) at the weekend include Martin Alade, Sonny Ehioghae, Okocha Christopher, Stanford Obstrute, Maimuna Anyene, Onyeka Ayaene, Temitope Ariyibi, Chinwe Uzoamaka Obi, Anibaba Tosin, Falmata Mohammed Ikpoki Obiola, Patrick Eze Okonji, Bassy Eyo, Kanguyi (Chinese) and Charles Ntoko.
Also identified already are Dr Abiodun Jonathan, Ifeanwaka Jones, Obot Emmanuel, Prof. C.O Onwuluri, Olabinjo Awodogbin, Obinna Akabueze, Nagidi Ibrahim, Mahmud Ahmed Dukawa, Ibrahim Jangana, George Moses, Femi Shobowale, , John Ahmadu Hamza (DIG), Abrahim Adijolola and Abraham Adiloju.
It was learnt that the DNA test to be conducted on the corpses would take two weeks. Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola had last week Thursday appealed to family members and relatives of victims of the Dana Air mishap of last Sunday to exercise more patience so that proper identification could be carried on the bodies before they are released.
“There is a big risk here of releasing the wrong body to the wrong family. Even yesterday, I was told that in the process of identifying, there was almost a mix up between two families because of the state of the bodies. There are foreigners also involved. There is danger of giving away Nigerian body to be taken away,” he said.
Governor Fashiola stressed that the need to conduct a meticulous and scientific identification process to avoid ‘costly errors’ is responsible for the seeming delay and appealed for patience while experts work round the clock to help identify the bodies.

Dana crash: Words fail me, but GOD Almighty knows best — Pastor Adeboye
“As a Father, a Pastor, a Leader, at a time like this, one is looked up
to for comfort and guidance but I must say the recent events involving
the Dana Air crash and the bomb blast in Northern Nigeria has touched me
deeply from different angles. The loss of fathers, mothers, daughters,
sons, brothers, sisters, innocent children, RCCG members, non-members,
and my beloved fellow Nigerians saddens me. Words fail me, but GOD
Almighty knows best. My Family and I are praying for ALL the victims and
most especially their relatives and loved ones. May the true comforter
comfort you, guide you, be with you, heal your hearts and take the pain
away in JESUS name. Amen.” — Pastor Adeboye
Captain Peter Waxton, Pilot Of The Ill-Fated Dana Flight Recovered
•Captain
Peter Waxtan, the American pilot who flew the ill-fated Dana plane on
Sunday, was on his last flight and last day in Nigeria before returning
to his country, friends and former colleagues said.
•Exclusive photo of Captain Waxtan while he was being brought out of the crahsed Dana plane. PHOTO: Olatunji Erinfolami.
A former pilot for Miramar-based Spirit Airlines, Waxtan resumed work with Dana Air in March 2012, Oscar Wason, the airline’s director of operations said.
In all, Waxtan had flown Dana planes for 30 days and was off duty for 15 days, Pat Squires, a pilot who worked with him for 15 years told Sun Sentinel newspaper in the United States, adding that he was to return on Sunday (3 June), the same day the Dana flight 992 crashed in Lagos, southwest Nigeria, killing 152 people on board and at least 10 others on the ground.
Squire added that Waxtan was eager to return to the US and spend time with Lisa, his fiancée. The 55-year old pilot was to have arrived his Fort Lauderdale home on Wednesday (today), he said.
The American pilot worked at Spirit from 1997 to 2009 before his contract and that of Squires, his colleague, were terminated during union negotiations with the airline.
“It was a political thing,” Squires said, which occurred during union negotiations with the airline. Both men then flew for Falcon Air Express, a Miami-based charter service.
Last year they both departed Falcon. Waxtan later joined Dana Air, where he worked 30 days on and 15 off, Squires said.
•The late Captain Waxtan
“Sunday was supposed to be his last day in the rotation in Nigeria,” he said.
Waxtan lived with Lisa, his fiancee, who through a friend declined to give her last name. “He spent as much time as he could get with her,” Squires said.
“It’s just so devastating,” said a Coral Springs flight attendant who knew Waxtan. “He was a good guy, he was one of my favorites,” Springs told Sun Sentinel newspaper.
Flight 992 was few kilometers on its final approach to the Lagos airport when Waxtan declared an emergency. Witnesses said it appeared the plane was having engine trouble, Wason said.
The jetliner crashed into a two-storey railway building, hitting the ground tail first and exploding in flames.
Squires described his friend as a “consummate professional” at flying. “He was the best MD-80 captain I’ve ever seen,” said Squires, formerly of Broward County and now of Phoenix.
Squires said crash photos showing Flight 992 on the ground with it nose up indicates Waxtan was trying to keep it in the air right until the end.
“He did everything he could to save that aircraft,” Squires said. “In the end, if he knew it was going down, he did everything he could to minimize the amount of damage on the ground.”“If nothing else, his efforts were heroic.”
Three other friends, flight attendants or other workers at Spirit Airlines, described Waxtan as a “genuine nice guy” who was quick with a smile or a joke. They asked that their names not be used, however, because officials at Spirit have prohibited employees from speaking about their lost friend.
Squires said Waxtan was a former Army helicopter pilot who enjoyed hiking. About three weeks ago, the two men spoke. “He was very happy, he kept telling me, ‘We need captains, come on over,’ “ Squires recalled.
“I’m still in shock,” said the friend, his voice breaking. “God, I’m going to miss him.”, the Sun Sentinel reported.
At the Dana Air Accident Information Centre at the Murtala Muhammed Airport 2, very few relatives showed up to identify their loved ones and inside the terminal building, there were only few passengers.
Dana passengers scurried to their airline’s counter for refund. Efforts to get the names of other members of Dana crew proved abortive as their colleagues refused to talk, to say what they remember about their departed colleagues.

Covenant University Expelled Final Year Student On Grounds Of Lesbianism
The University authorities of Covenant University, Canaanland Ota in Ogun state, has sacked a 22-year old final year student of the University on grounds of lesbianism. University Administration officer who spoke with Hope For Nigeria said that the student's activities and unquenchable desire for other ladies was disturbing and embarrassing to the University. He regrets the decision but said that sexual orientation and exploits does not give a Faith based University like Covenant, a good name. Wow, what do you all think.. Cool or not? I don't support LGBTs but she's a final year stu, that regardless tho, but could she not have been counselled? People change BAD ways - there I said it - if shown a level of support and love. |

A Female Student Of Igbinedion University Stabs Roommate 7 Times
Some students of the Igbinedion Univeristy, Okada, Edo State,
contacted me yesterday about an incident that happened in their school
involving two room mates, Chioma Onyeagwe and Hope Amadi. They had a
fight over a shirt, and one of them nearly lost her life.
According to reports, Hope Amadi borrowed Chioma’s cloth and refused to return it for many days. When Chioma asked for her cloth back on Tuesday June 5th, Hope allegedly became extremely aggressive and the two girls got into serious argument. Then a fight ensued. According to witnesses, Hope Amadi picked up scissors from their room and stabbed Chioma seven times on the neck, arm and other places.
Chioma was rushed to the Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital, where doctors reported that Chioma was stabbed on her artery, and that if she hadn’t been rushed to the hospital when she was she would have died.

Yoruba Girl, Opeyemi Sodipe becomes the youngest Nigerian girl to bags PhD at 25
She's young and imbued with
the spirit of excellence. 25-year-old Opeyemi Sodipe set a new record
during the 10th convocation of the Babcock University, Ilisan-Remo, Ogun State on Sunday as she became the first graduate of Babcock to bag a PhD at 25.
Miss Sodipe bagged a PhD in Business Information. According to her growing up story, as she narrated, she had a bad academic start. She was a dullard until an incident changed this when she was in JSS3 at King’s International School in Ibadan, Oyo State.
“I cannot describe myself as an average student when I was in primary and junior secondary school. I was a dullard. But this changed when our literature teacher in JSS 3 gave us a test and I failed woefully. The infuriated teacher while distributing our scripts just threw my own at my face and abused me. She called me olodo (an academic non-performer) and I was greatly embarrassed in front of my classmates. I wept till I reached home,” she stated.
On getting home, she told her mother about the ‘insult’ unleashed on her by her teacher. But to her surprised, her mother too scolded her. However, her mum did what a responsible parent should do: “She later encouraged me to buckle up. She said my teacher’s action should be seen as a wake-up call. I took the advice and prayed to God to give me wisdom that night and everything changed when I got to SS1. I always emerged as one of the best in my class till I left the school in 2002,” she said.
Since then, this Ogun State-born lady has not looked back. She gained admission to BU in September 2002 and graduated in 2006 as the best graduating student in her class. Also at the University of Ibadan, while studying for her Master's degree, she emerged the second best graduating student with a score of 69 in 2010. The best graduating student in her class then made 69.9.
Her proud parents - Mr. & Mrs. David and Deborah Sodipe - who accompanied her to the convocation, said that God’s grace, discipline and sacrifice on their part were responsible for their daughter’s feat.

Did First Lady cause Dana airplane to crashed after blocking airspace for 2hrs?
"Is there any way of getting confirmation about news I'm just getting that the
Dana plane was distressed for a while but could not make an emergency
landing because the airspace was closed for 2 hours for the
Presidential Jet carrying Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan."
Private jet owners who had to hover in the air same time leaked this. This was apparently the reason local news didn't report the crash for so long till CNN and foreign news stations started reporting it.
>>>CLICK HERE TO VIEW Photos of people that died in the Dana Air-plane Crashed<<<
Local news was 'blacked out' trying to kill the story of the airspace being closed while a distressed plane couldn't land.
It would be shocking if so. Though there was engine failure there was still time for the plane to have landed apparently.
You do know anyway that the airspace is closed for up to 2hours each time the Presidential Jet needs to go into the air? 2 hours for a 15minute take off or landing!
And this jet is used by President, VP, President's wife and if I recall David Mark. It's almost a daily occurrence I've been told by airline staff when it caught me out on a trip.
The truth remains that the President's wife was actually in Lagos to attend the christening of their personal assistant's child at the Oriental hotel. Lekki. Anyone living on the Lekki axis saw first hand the horrendous traffic caused by the president's wife's visit and confirmed reports from airport staff who volunteered information, collaborated this fact, that the Lagos airport was actually shut for 2 hours, about the same time the ill fated Dana Plane crashed.
This also strongly explains the reason why Aero contractor airplane could not depart Abuja for Lagos at 3:40pm because of the closure of the Lagos airport. This is bad and one can only imagine the deep sorrow ad-in-finitum (without limit) that the families of these unfortunate Nigerians and other nationals are currently plagued into.
Yes we have to and yes we can; beginning from our immediate homes and While we pray for the repose of the souls of the departed, we need as a nation to thoroughly do some deep communities. with time this will snowball into our National consciousness. For how long are we going to sacrifice the lives of our dear brothers and sisters and by extension mortgage the future of their/our children, just for the comfort of our leaders? For a 15 minutes ritual of plane take-off, an airport was shut for 2 hours because our "DEAR FIRST LADY" was scheduled to return to Abuja. OH merciful God, help Nigeria in Distress!''
